Ride a Dino Grip Training Guide
Dino Machines build Grip, according to the developer. Train on your machine, compare your displayed value before and after, then retry a familiar target. If you miss the landing entirely, practice the jump as well as training.

How to train Grip with Dino Machines in Ride a Dino
Complete the tutorial to reach your Dino Machine
The Ranch Hand badge links the tutorial to a pen, machine and herd. Continue your current tutorial objective before assuming you need to buy a special item.
Find the Dino Machine beside your pen
At 1:10 in the reference video, the player is training on a spring-mounted station beside an Upgrade Machine sign. Small gain indicators appear during the training animation.
Check the displayed training value before and after
Note the displayed value, train, and check it again. Keep the same equipped Aura while comparing sessions so a separate equipment change does not confuse the result.
Retry a familiar dinosaur after training
As a practical check, retry the same type of target under similar conditions. This is a suggested practice routine, not a verified formula for how much Grip a dinosaur needs.

Grip, Stamina and Speed in Ride a Dino: what is confirmed?
The developer’s description uses Grip. The community footage also shows Stamina on Aura offers and a lightning-bolt display. Those observations establish the labels, but do not establish a conversion formula or prove that every display measures the same thing.
AllThingsHow calls Grip and Stamina the same number. We have not independently confirmed that relationship, so this guide keeps the names separate. Speed should not be substituted for either.

Ride a Dino training problems: missed jumps and failed tames
| What happened | What to check next |
|---|---|
| You never landed on the target | Practice distance and jump timing; training alone does not correct a missed landing. |
| You landed but did not finish the tame | Read the target’s displayed requirement, train, and watch the capture feedback on your next attempt. |
| The training value seems unchanged | Make sure the training animation is running and you are reading the same stat before and after. |
| A comparison suddenly looks much better | Check whether your equipped Aura or machine changed between the two attempts. |
Ride a Dino training: what the tutorial says about staying mounted
In the October 21 opening lesson, an on-screen tutorial message says that more Stamina lets you remain on dinosaurs longer. This is more specific than a creator’s recommendation: it is visible guidance from the recorded game itself. It supports returning to progression when a ride ends before the capture is complete.
The official listing still calls Dino Machine training Grip, while the tutorial uses Stamina. We preserve those labels rather than inventing a conversion between them. Watch the value and warnings displayed in the version you are actually playing.

Where to find your Dino Machine in Ride a Dino
Look beside the ranch pens for the small dinosaur mounted on a spring. Both inspected recordings show players using this station, with repeated gain indicators appearing above the training animation. The nearby Upgrade Machine sign belongs to this station; the separate Upgrade Pen sign belongs to the ranch.
In the October 20 footage, the machine sign names the next machine and displays a before-and-after Stamina-per-second offer. Read those fields on your own sign before buying. The floating gain from a single bounce and the rate written on an upgrade sign describe different views of training; do not multiply one animation tick into a promised hourly rate.

How to check your training progress in Ride a Dino
Keep the same Aura equipped when comparing training
Use the same machine and equipped Aura for the first comparison. Note the lightning-bolt value displayed by your game. A new Aura and a new machine bought together make the source of any increase harder to understand.
Check the Dino Machine animation and training gains
Look for the mounted training animation and gain feedback. Standing near the station is not the same as using it. If the total does not change, return to its interaction prompt and check your current lesson objective.
Compare another canyon attempt after training
After training or one upgrade, retry a target with a comparable displayed requirement. Check the riding feedback and whether you finish the capture. This is a practical comparison, not a controlled measurement of the game’s hidden formulas.
Ride a Dino “Not enough stamina” warning: what to check
A red Stamina warning is visible in the October 20 recording at 4:40, beside the riding indicators. When your screen gives that warning, treat it as a target-selection or progression problem. Repeating the identical jump is unlikely to tell you more than trying a less demanding target or returning to training.
A missed landing is a different failure: you have not reached the point where the riding meter can decide the attempt. Separate those two situations before spending cash. Training, a machine offer and an Aura offer can be relevant to progression; they do not aim the jump for you.

When to upgrade your Dino Machine in Ride a Dino
Use a machine upgrade when training is the obstacle you are trying to solve. Read the current cost and benefit on your machine before spending. A more expensive option is not automatically the best next purchase when you already need room for a catch.
